Many marine life forms dwindle in numbers and some we have lost forever. We encourage interns to utilise their own experiences, skills, and qualifications to concentrate on particular Reef Doctor activities, from marine research and management to education or socio-economic development work. In fact a quarter of the world’s coral reefs, and their magnificent diversity of life, are already considered damaged beyond repair.
Everybody certified as Open Water diver or higher. Volunteers are great people that want to donate their time and money to worthwhile projects, and expand their personal horizons, instead of lazing around on a holiday.

Those who wish to devote a significant amount of time to learn about marine science and actively participate in marine research, conservation, management, and/or community development work. You’re free to stay elsewhere, but you’ll have to cover the extra cost. Together with interns, researchers, conservationists and other great people, we continuously study and investigate our wet environment.

Your work makes a vital difference, whether you choose to research corals and sea grasses or work to rehabilitate marine wildlife and spread awareness in local and international communities. Working at our destinations require a work permit, which is expensive and sometimes difficult to get.
I came with no dive experience and now have over 25 logged and am pursuing my rescue diver certification. We also prefer candidates who have a demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal direct supervision. Please be honest, you’re not doing anybody a favor by over- or under exaggerating. We offer single-sex dormitories with a maximum of 3 persons per room for free to our participants.
