I rate this episode 9/10. While he thinks of Akira's methods as old-fashioned and boring, proper training (such as studying) is completely necessary as to prevent injury to the user. Mike Reiss said he will always remember it as the episode "that came back animated with a thousand mistakes in it and was just a complete and utter mess." Scratchy / The B-plot is about Marge signing him up for a martial arts class to make him lose weight, though it was partially his idea.
This is the third episode of the third season of the Simpsons and I really liked it a lot. (voice), Ned Flanders / Homer,ever jealous of his neighbour,hopes it will fail - and indeed it does,getting to the point where Ned has to sell many of his possessions and his house seems likely to be repossessed.
