The powerful bass-baritone voice of Sephardic singer and instrumentalist. Judith Wachs obtained many songs from community members during her frequent trips to Israel, where the majority of Sephardim now reside. We have presented concerts in almost every one of the contiguous states, and have heard from fans in Alaska and Hawaii from public radio broadcasts. Most of this is pretty traditional and acoustic in tone, however, though it has the undercurrent of dark, uneasy tension that gives much of Fahey's '60s material its intriguing combination of meditation and restlessness.
