These “Student Physician Activities” (SPAs) define what students should be able to perform prior to graduation.
Emory's doctor of medicine (MD) is designed to maximize patient interaction time, deliver broad exposure to different practice environments, and apply research innovations in a clinical setting. It also has dual degree options in bioethics, business, public health, and biomedical and clinical/translational research (master's and PhD programs). The Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) provides didactic and mentored clinical and translational research training for medical students in between their third and fourth years of medical school. The Emory University School of Medicine Executive Curriculum Committee has stated the outcomes of the MD program in terms of the activities characteristic of a physician that students will learn and do. MD/MBA students must complete three semesters in residency, 50 credit hours including two global requirements and a directed study project involving a topic which bridges the two fields of study.
MD/MBA students may complete the courses using either full-time format: the two-year MBA, fall start option or the one-year MBA, summer start option. MD and Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) Dual Degree.
